I am a freelance editor, proofreader and project manager providing editorial services for print and web, covering a wide range of subject areas and specialising in English law.
With over 20 years’ in-house experience in legal publishing, employed by two of the largest traditional law publishers in the UK, I have worked on everything from weekly bulletins and specialist practitioner texts to multi-volume looseleaf encyclopaedias.
My portfolio of titles edited covers all areas of law and tax, from human rights, welfare and family titles, to Erskine May's Parliamentary Practice, oil and gas law, personal injury litigation, and detailed procedural guides. I am available to proofread and edit any legal subject matter.
I am fully conversant with XML/XPP systems, as well as traditional DTP software such as Framemaker/Pagemaker and Quark, and am an experienced user of Webservices.
I am accurate, flexible and reliable, and able to undertake short- or long-term projects. I’m happy to liaise with authors, typesetters, indexers, etc.
For the last 15 years I have been working remotely, and am therefore an extremely experienced tele-commuter. The wonders of modern technology mean that my physical location is largely irrelevant and has no impact at all on my ability to meet deadlines and maintain effective communication.
